In Romans Chapter 12 Paul starts to talk about relationship. Relationships with God, with fellow believers and with the world.
A Living Sacrifice
Romans Chapter 12 starts by telling us we need to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. We do that because we understand God’s mercy toward us. We were condemned to die but He sent Jesus to be the propitiation for our sin. We deserved judgement .. death … but instead, for those who by faith believe in Jesus, we received life!
Renewed Mind
Then we are told to not be conformed to this world but to have our minds renewed, which then transforms us. How do we do this? By reading the Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to us and transform us. Transform us so that we think as God thinks and feel as God feels.
All one body
We are all one body. Actually, we are a small part of the body of Christ, where Jesus is the head. We all have gifts and in order for us to be healthy and operating optimally and according to God’s will, we need to be operating fully in our gifts.
Rules for living
Romans Chapter 12 starts giving us practical rules for living. It starts by telling us to give our bodies and minds to God and then goes on teling us not to be proud, to love, to be zealous and fervent in our Christian walk and to not to seek revenge. Read the chapter. Talk a half an hour reading and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Repent as needed.
